Over the years I’ve seen a number of companies flounder or fail due to disorganization and a lack of planning. I’m passionate about enabling businesses to improve their business process and establish systems that lead to success. Raised in the Boston area, I discovered at an early age that I had a knack for creating order. After earning a BS degree, I starting out by scheduling production and eventually managing and planning inventory for discrete manufacturing companies. Through observing and simplifying the production process and completing work for APICS certification, I became proficient at visualizing and improving internal structures and processes.
My project planning and management skills were further honed through planning and managing new product development projects for engineering groups (self-service kiosks and computerized cutting & test equipment). I facilitated and implemented the product development & test cycle timelines and was the liaison between engineering, marketing, and operations.
As a Customer Support Specialist I provided application and technical support to process manufacturing customers, including on-site troubleshooting, for multi-module ERP software products. I trained coworkers and customers in the use of the software, replicated software bugs, and performed quality control on bug fixes and new products. Chosen to document the Customer Support processes for ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification and represent customer support on the management team to evaluate quality standards, I learned first-hand that attaining the highest possible level of service to the customer was truly the driving force behind achieving the goals of excellence and ongoing improvement.
Here in California I reorganized a small, internet-based retail business in 2004: Planned and implemented the move to a larger space, determined the floor plan and office equipment layout, reorganized the inventory, and wrote office procedures.
Spatial Clarity Consulting was founded in early 2005. My unique ability to visualize the reorganization of processes and physical space combined with 20 years of experience, a diverse skill set, and a proven track record provides the expertise and leadership for optimizing business potential.
